WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT

A REMOTE CAR STARTER.


  • ADDING A REMOTE START DOES NOT VOID ANY VEHICLE MANUFACTURE WARRANTY!
  • IT IS AGAINST THE LAW IF YOUR DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT A REMOTE START MUST BE INSTALLED BY THEM OR YOUR VEHICLE WARRANTY IS VOID. (MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY ACT)
  • MOST CAR DEALERSHIPS DO NOT SELL/INSTALL REMOTE STARTERS. THEY ARE NORMALLY SUBBED OUT TO A THIRD PARTY, SUCH AS US, AND MARKED UP 30-100%
  • THE AVERAGE INSTALLATION TAKES LESS THEN 2 HOURS.

 

  • ADDING A REMOTE START WILL NOT ALTER ANY ELECTRICAL FUNTIONS.
  • THE FUNCTION OF YOUR IGNITION KEY WILL NOT CHANGE. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE ABLE TO START AND SHUT DOWN YOUR CAR WITH YOUR VEHICLE KEY JUST AS BEFORE.
  • YOUR CAR WILL ONLY RUN FOR A PREDETERMINED TIME SET. 15/25 MINUTES.  AFTER TIME EXPIRES THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF.
  • YOU CAN SHUT DOWN REMOTE START AT ANYTIME BY PRESSING THE START BUTTON AGAIN.
  • YOUR CAR WILL STAY LOCKED DURING/AFTER REMOTE STARTING.
  • YOUR CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN UNLESS THE VEHICLE KEY IS INSERTED INTO THE IGNITION.
  • YOUR CAR DOES NOT NEED POWER OPTIONS (DOOR LOCKS-WINDOWS) FOR A REMOTE CAR STARTER.
  • CAN BE INSTALLED IN AN AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLES.
  • CAN BE INSTALLED WITH GAS OR DIESEL ENGINE VEHICLES.

As new more complex technologies emerge onto the automotive spectrum,
vehicle aftermarket devices require more sophisticated solutions to complete 2-way integration with newer vehicles.

 

WHAT ARE IDATALINK MODULES ?
Many new vehicles have introduced encrypted keys called TRANSPONDER KEYS. These keys are made by vehicle manufactures to deter theives from stealing cars. When a remote starter is installed in these types of cars, the vehicle computer thinks the vehicle is being stolen and will not allow the remote starter to do it's job and start the car properly. This is where we use IDATALINK.
IDATALINK will intergrate itself to communicate to the vehicle computers and allow proper start.
These modules may also be required to handle data controlled lock/unlock & factory alarm funtions.
