As new more complex technologies emerge onto the automotive spectrum,
vehicle aftermarket devices require more sophisticated solutions to complete 2-way integration with newer vehicles.
WHAT ARE IDATALINK MODULES ?
Many new vehicles have introduced encrypted keys called TRANSPONDER KEYS. These keys are made by vehicle manufactures to deter theives from stealing cars. When a remote starter is installed in these types of cars, the vehicle computer thinks the vehicle is being stolen and will not allow the remote starter to do it's job and start the car properly. This is where we use IDATALINK.
IDATALINK will intergrate itself to communicate to the vehicle computers and allow proper start.
These modules may also be required to handle lock/unlock & factory alarm funtions.
One of these 3 modules maybe used in your vehicle if vehicle is equipped with:
Transponder Key
PassLock 1-2-3 (GMC GROUP)
Data controlled factory O.E.M alarms
Push Start Button Vehicles (smart keys)
